WFM Siti Zulaikha Foudzi is the longest holder of the NWM title with a record of 8 consecuitive years.

NM and NWM brothers and sister

The first sibling to win the National champion title for both the Men and Women's title are NM Kamal Ariffin and NWM Nurul Huda Wahiduddin in the National Closed 1991.

The second sibling to achieve this feat is NM Zarul Shazwan and NWM Nur Shazwani in the National Closed 2007.
